• Level 1: Functional Safety Engineer
  • Knowledge Requirements:
    • 1 week of Functional safety training and candidates must pass a three hour final exam.
  • Prerequisites:
    • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, engineering degree or work experience equivalency with degree.
• Level 2: Functional Safety Engineer Professional
  • Knowledge Requirements:
    • 1 week of Functional safety training and candidates must pass a three hour final exam.
  • Prerequisites:
    • One case study demonstrating experience in Functional Safety which can be verified. The case study should show a broad understanding from Safety Plan to Safety Case (work products)
    • Interview
    • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Level 3: Functional Safety Expert
  • Knowledge Requirements:
    • 1 week of Functional safety training and candidates must pass a three hour final exam.
  • Prerequisites:
    • Two case studies demonstrating ability to do confirmation measures, evidence of communication.
    • Interview
    • At least 10 years of relevant industry experience.

• Level 1: Internal Auditor Provisional Knowledge
  • Knowledge Requirements:
    • 1 week of Functional Safety Auditor Training and candidates must pass exam.
• Level 2: Certified Internal Auditor Knowledge
  • Knowledge Requirements:
    • 1 week of Functional Safety Auditor Training and candidates must pass exam.
  • Prerequisites:
    • 10 audits in the past 3 years.

• Gap Analysis for ISO 26262 and IATF 16949 and Implementation Plan
  • The implementation plan will integrated ISO 26262 with the QMS (IATF 16949) and the New Product Development process w/ APQP/PPAP
• Implementation Plan with:
  • Documentation Development-Functional Safety Manual, Integrated Processes and New Product Development process
  • Pilot Project with Functional Safety-Standard life cycle (including operational context) or Safety Element Out of Context (SEooC)
  • Safety Case
  • Confirmation Measures-Audit, Assessment, and Confirmation Reviews
