Webinar Title : Preparing for the AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook - Upcoming changes to the FMEA process from the current AIAG FMEA 4th edition reference document

Date & Time : Friday, Feb 28, 1.00PM EST

Description :

Daimler is now requiring AIAG-VDA FMEAs. There are also requirements from Ford, GM, FCA, and Honda. There are some big changes coming for those who perform FMEA analysis. A new procedure has been developed at AIAG called "AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook” giving more of a global and system based approach to the application of FMEA. This approach requires a more systemic understanding of how a component and subsystem failure interrelate to the results in a system level failure. This will require a different approach as well as different forms. Additionally, RPN is being replaced with risk management and new scales will be introduced for severity, occurrence, and detection. This may sound like a lot of change, but Omnex is introducing a software solution to reduce your burden and ease your transition to the new handbook.

In this webinar we will discuss several changes in the way FMEAs are done:

  • The New Seven Step Process
  • Boundary Diagram vs. Structure
  • Function Net vs. Functional Requirement
  • Failure Net vs. Failure Mode and Cause
  • Risk Analysis and Optimization vs. RPN and Action Recommended Actions
  • Risk Communication
  • Old Form vs. New Form
  • Omnex’s Software Solution

Join this webinar to learn more about the changes coming soon with the new AIAG-VDA FMEA and how you can prepare yourself to ensure your transition is as simple and painless as possible.
