Get up-to-date with the latest changes to the Automotive Certification Scheme for
ISO/TS 16949:2009
If you are an ISO/TS 16949:2009 registered organization, auditor, or implementer,
you should be aware that a new version of the Automotive Certification Scheme for
ISO/TS 16949:2009 has just been released with an implementation date of January
1, 2009. The IATF Automotive Certification Scheme has a major impact on the registrars
and therefore impacts the entire ISO/TS 16949:2009 scheme. The importance of understanding
these new rules cannot be overstated.
The Automotive Certification Scheme for ISO/TS 16949:2009, 3rd Edition is a complete
rewrite and reorganization of the previous version, therefore no comparison can
be made between the old document and this revision. Some key elements of the new
revision include:
- No outsourcing of certification activities
- Changes to the determination
of necessary audit days
- Changes to the writing of nonconformities and corrective
actions
- Increased list of IATF Loss of Certification requirements
- Increased
impartiality rules, including contracts to registrars
The information in the new edition has been covered to some extent with registrars
through the Auditor Recertification Training and/or nonconformities through accreditation
audits. However, for most of us, this is the first time we've seen the new requirements.
In order to help you understand these changes, Omnex is offering a free, one-hour
webinar highlighting the changes that could impact your ability to achieve or retain
IATF certification. Don't be left out in the cold on January 1st, register today!
