ISO 45001 Update: ISO's First Occupational Health & Safety Management System Standard

Webinar Title: ISO 45001 Update: ISO's First Occupational Health & Safety Management System Standard

Within a year, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) plans to publish its first occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system standard over objections from the International Labour Organization (ILO). This project was not approved by ISO several times despite pockets of interest over the past 20 years.

According to the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, there are 860 000 occupational accidents daily with injury consequences. The direct or indirect cost of occupational illness and accidents at work is estimated at US $2.8 trillion worldwide. Businesses need to effectively manage risks to survive and prosper. Poor OH&S management can have many negative effects on people and organizations, e.g. injury, business interruption, claims, regulatory action, reputational damage, loss of investors and/or of business. The new ISO standard will require subscribing organizations to identify and address OH&S risks and opportunities among other things.

Dan Reid, Omnex Director of Standards and Consulting, a member of the US Technical Committee to the ISO Committee responsible for this standard, will provide an overview of latest draft of this historic document and answer questions. Participation is limited, available on a "first come-first served" basis. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
