Did you know that Greg Gruska was a writing member of the MSA, SPC, FMEA, and EFMEA Manual subcommittees of the American Automotive industry’s Supplier Quality Requirements Task Force, part of the international task force governing IATF 16949. He has traveled extensively and was the International TQM Conference Deming Memorial speaker at Sheffield England and keynote speaker at Abu Dhabi. He has co-authored over 100 books and papers in Quality and Statistics. Greg is also a member of the SAE Functional Safety Committee (J2980) and is considered one of the world’s foremost authorities on risk management. Additionally, he has significant and extensive hardware and software experience in automotive applications. Greg wrote one of the first books on the essential linkages between FMEAs and Control Plans, CP2, and then used this methodology to help Ford develop a ground breaking standard called DCP or Dimensional Control Plan in the late 1980s.

Did you know that Mike Down worked with Dr. Deming from 1985 to 1993 and one of 10 people from GM asked to go to his funeral in Washington DC? Mike also represented GM at both SAE and AIAG, providing extensive guidance and input to the development of Global Automotive Standards reference documents on Quality and Core tools, including PFMEA, APQP/CP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and DRBFM? Mike has been involved with FMEA standards and including developing and teaching FMEAs since the 1990s. Today, Mike is actively working on the SAE J1739 committee updating the FMEA standard to reflect AIAG VDA FMEA. Mike has a Master Degree in Statistics from Oakland University.

Did you know that Mary Rowzee helped author/contribute to Core Tools Guidebooks: FMEA, Machinery FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, and APQP and is a current member of AIAG-VDA Harmonized FMEA Standard Team? Mary was also an author/contributor to Design Review Based on Failure Modes Guideline, J4886. Mary is actively leading industry practices and application of ISO 26262 Functional Safety Standard for Electrical/ Electronic Products; Software FMEAs, ASPICE, CMMI and Quality; Supplemental Monitoring and Systems Response (MSR) FMEAs; Safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF) ISO 21448 and use of Safety Engineering tools (Reliability Block Diagrams, Hazard and Risk Analyses, Addressing ASIL rated risks) in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Mary has worked for Daimler Chrysler Fiat, TRW and recently GM working as a Senior Engineer ADAS Electrical sub-systems quality for Autonomous Vehicles. She was the Quality and Reliability Resource on ADAS Electrical Sub-systems teams, used in Autonomous Vehicles. For GM she worked with internal and first tier supplier teams to develop Safety Analyses and Design FMEAs on Electrical, Mechanical and Software products in support of ISO 26262 requirements.

Chad is the Omnex CTO and will moderate this webinar. Did you know that Chad founded Omnex in the 1980s? Omnex has been working in the Automotive industry for 30 years and Omnex principals been active in writing different automotive standards including QS 9000, ISO/TS 16949, Semiconductor Supplement, APQP, FMEA and Core Tools. Chad conducted the first world-wide witness audit for QS 9000 a predecessor to IATF 16949. Chad is currently on various committees that help write ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Health and Safety Management Systems. Chad and Greg Gruska discovered the linkages between the Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans and Work Instructions in the 1980s, which led to the Omnex methodology for PFMEA and Omnex’s AQuA Pro Software.
