This two-day course is designed to introduce the Tiered Supply Base to the Philosophy of Contamination Control. This class aligns with both GM BIQS and VDA 19. The course will help you understand:

  • What is a Contaminant?
  • Six Major Types of Contamination
  • Equipment and Methods used to Identify and Control Contamination
  • PFMEA, Control Plan, Standard Work and Maintenance Plans
  • Layered Audits and Visual Management of Controls of product is discussed and offers guidance on its use.

The scope of this class is Contamination Control throughout the entire Supply Chain. Product at various stages of the production process may generate Contaminants that affect the End Customer and need to be controlled.

This course will help you understand VDA 19 and is one of many documents produced by the VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie), an interest group of the German automobile manufacturers and component suppliers. It has been adopted by German automakers as a supplier requirement.
