Workshop 5: Achieving Six Sigma Quality: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control
(10-days)
Lean/Six Sigma Workshop Series C

This ten-day workshop develops knowledge and skill for planning, organizing and
leading Six Sigma improvement project teams to achieve Six Sigma quality. Participants
will develop the ability to identify and quantify quality improvement opportunities;
and, to develop their ability to perform process capability studies for any process
measure. They will be introduced to the concepts and practices of Measurement Systems
Analysis while learning how to establish, report and maintain measurement system
capability, and complete the analyze phase.
The goals are to:
- Plan for Six Sigma quality using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and
Control) method for quality improvement
- Create process maps, to determine the cost of poor quality for a process
- Measure and report process yield, process capability and sigma level
- Analyze processes to identify the changes needed to achieve Six Sigma quality levels.
- Use the Six Sigma quality improvement tools such as process control charts, test
of hypotheses and design of experiments to identify, and verify the sources of process
variation
- Create and implement project plans, to determine the cost of poor quality for a
process; and, how to measure and report process yield, process capability and sigma
level
