Omnex Announces Training Agreement with United Technologies Corporation (UTC)
Ann Arbor, MI , November 29, 2018-- Omnex, an international consulting, training and software company, is pleased to announce the signing of a Master Services Agreement with United Technologies Corporation (UTC) to provide training to UTC’s business units and its supply base in conjunction with UTC’s Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
APQP involves disciplined systems and methods incorporating risk analysis, prevention and control into a company’s new product introduction (NPI) and continual improvement (CI) processes, beginning with planning and requirements management and continuing throughout the entire Product Life Cycle. Elements of APQP address all major product development aspects including design robustness, design testing and specification compliance, production process design, quality inspection standards, process capability, production capacity, product packaging, product testing and operator training plan, among other items. Coupled with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), which provides comprehensive evidence of a capable product and process, these methods enable an organization to effectively prevent both product design and manufacturing failures.
APQP and PPAP have been employed in the Aerospace industry to significantly improve product design and manufacturing processes, providing major impact reflected in improvements in quality, reliability and overall customer satisfaction. It is a methodology being adopted by leading Aerospace organizations globally.
“As a result of this new agreement, we will be able to enhance our support in training, workshops and implementation assistance to UTC and its supply base, aiding in standardization and effectiveness of APQP/PPAP world-wide.”
