Type in "Knowledge Management" in Google and you're on your way to information overload with 68,800,000 hits.

Decades ago we wanted data, if we had enough data we could find our problems and predict the future, but that didn't happen. The failure was blamed in part on "GIGO" (garbage in, garbage out). So we said it's not data we need, we need information-wrong again. Instead of results, we just added a new term to our vocabulary: "information overload." Now it's "Knowledge Management," and eventually it will evolve into "we're so smart we're stupid". Next it will be "Wisdom" then "Truth" and then who knows what? The only thing we can count on is that someone else will be counting your money while you're trying to catch up with the latest catch phrase.
