IT security and service management are increasingly becoming important issues today. If your organization places importance on confidentiality, disaster recovery or business continuity, then training in standards like ISO/IEC 27001:2005 and ISO/IEC 17799:2005 are important considerations. After all, why implement contingency plans and Sarbanes-Oxley if your IT security either doesn't exist or is full of holes?

While IT security is key, some organizations have also found success by implementing quality standards like ISO/IEC 20000:2005, which focuses on IT services and the management of those services. ISO 20000 is considered to be the ISO 9001:2000 of IT developers and IT service organizations.

With all of the standards, it can be daunting to figure out how to develop your IT plan.
