Seminar Content
This three-day course is certified by RABQSA under the TPECS scheme, and meets the knowledge criteria requirements for the Principal QMS Auditor grade or lower. This seminar fully covers the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009 requirements. Other topics include audit systems, the auditing process and audit instruments; the documentation process, conducting an audit, writing the audit report, and taking corrective action.Auditing case studies to develop skills for identifying nonconformities will be used.
Automotive Process Approach Auditing has three main components – Process Auditing, Customer Focus and Leadership Auditing – each of which must follow the requirements laid out in ISO/TS 16949:2009. This course will give instruction and guidance on conducting the Process Audit using the Process Analysis Worksheet and Turtle DiagramsEach key auditing technique, including document review, readiness review, audit planning, performing the audit, assessing effectiveness in practice, and generating audit reports.
Attendees who successfully demonstrate competence during this course will achieve a Certificate of Attainment for the following competency units:
An (optional) fourth day may be added to cover Customer-Specific Requirements and, in particular, the five AIAG reference manuals (APQP, MSA, SPC, PPAP, and FMEA). (Adding the optional fourth day satisfies all GM, Chrysler, and Ford requirements for internal auditor training.)

This seminar is designed for Quality Assurance Managers, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009 Implementation Team Members, and Management Representatives.
Recommended Training and/or Experience
An extensive understanding of the ISO 9001:2008 or ISO/TS 16949:2009 requirements and/or work experience in applying them is recommended.

Each participant will receive a seminar manual and a breakout workbook that includes auditing case studies.

About ISO/TS 16949:2009
ISO/TS 16949:2009 specified the quality system requirements for the design / development,
production, and (where relevant) installation and servicing of automotive related
products. The ISO/TS 16949:2009 1st Edition released in 1999, was based on ISO 9001:1994.
To emphasize continuous improvement in the supplier base, the International Automotive
Task Force (IATF) later revised the ISO/TS 16949:1999 requirements to align with
the ISO 9001:2008 framework.
