ISO/IEC 17025:2005

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 replaces ISO/IEC 17025:1999, which was a replacement for Guide 25:1990 & EN 45001:1989. It is the contemporary standard to be adhered to by all testing & calibration laboratories. It integrates the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 & embodies the extensive experience gained over a time span of 10 years of lab systems implementation.

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 also promotes cooperation between laboratories & other bodies to assist in the exchange of information & experience & the harmonization of standards & procedural goals. With international law, commerce, economy & technology forging a new way of life, the standards reflect the general trend in the corporate realm.

About ISO/IEC 17025:2005 - An Innovative Standard for Laboratory Quality Systems (LAB)
ISO/IEC 17025:2005 has been revised to align the ISO 17025:1999 version with ISO 9001:2000. Thus, ISO harmonized lab system accreditation by recognizing the ISO 9001:2000 standard as the basis for sound management of lab systems. This is now found in Clause 4 of ISO/IEC 17025.
