AS9120 Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Distributors
This standard was developed for those organizations that are distributors
(procure parts, materials, assemblies and resells these products) to the Aviation,
Space and Defense industries. Its usage is intended to impact quality, schedule,
and cost performance by eliminating requirements unique to organizations and
introducing the application of best practices.
AS9120 includes an increased emphasis on On-Time and On-Quality Delivery (OTOQD)
performance, configuration management, supplier management, purchase process,
preservation of product, and formal monitoring of customer satisfaction data.
Not all of the changes in the AS9100 series are reflected in this standard;
however the changes made to AS9101
Quality Management System Assessment auditing does apply.
