Omnex India on the move
As of the financial year ending March 2004, Omnex in India has recorded a growth
(net contract values) of approximately 45%. The India operations for the same time
period have doubled in terms of revenue collections, number of consultants and employees.
Omnex currently employs around 110 professionals in India.
This growth was a result of several high profile contracts won for 6 SIGMA training
implementations with companies such as GAIL (INDIA) LTD. (Gas Authority of India
Ltd.). GAIL is one of the most profitable public sector organizations in India and
is designated as one of the 'Navaratnas' (The nine gems) by the Government of India.
As of today, India accounts for more than 200 ongoing Lean/Six Sigma project assignments
for Omnex.
Omnex India has also firmed up an expansion plan for its product portfolio. Lean/
6 sigma and numerous improvement projects in addition to the Systems consulting
businesses are transforming Omnex India into a significant player in entire solutions
consulting with a variety of products merged into 3 distinct verticals, viz., Systems
Consulting, Strategic consulting and Lean Six Sigma.
Mr. Arun Kumar, formerly Country Manager of Omnex, has been promoted to take
care of Omnex' Asia businesses. The India operations are now being handled by the
newly formed India Management Board (IMB) to ensure smooth operations and enhanced
participation of all employees. The operations have also been restructured on the
pattern of the Octopus Model to directly benefit Omnex' clients. With 3 major Regions
and their territories spread across 10 cities, services of Omnex India are currently
being utilized from Punjab in the North to Kerala in South and from Gujarat in the
west to as far as Assam in the far east. Omnex has already served more than 930
clients in India from Automotive, Engineering, Software, Garment and BPO industries.
