Workshop Content
This five-day workshop is the first in the series of Lean Black Belt training programs.
This program develops knowledge and skills for planning, organizing and leading
Lean Improvement Project Teams. This workshop offers instruction and practice in
measuring and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Participants will
learn how to improve OEE by leading project teams to reduce setup and changeover
times and improve quality yields through application of The SMED quick changeover
process. This workshop will provide instruction in the development of a TPM (Total
Productive Maintenance) system based upon predictive and preventive maintenance
practices. Participants will also determine the potential cost savings and increased
productive capacity from improved OEE.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is intended for Champions and Lean Black Belt Candidates responsible
for improving quality and productivity in manufacturing operations. This training
is team-based training. The team can include the Process Champion and up to four
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Candidates. There is a limit of 3 teams per session.
Prerequisites
This is the first Workshop in the Lean Black Belt Training Series. Participants
are expected to have completed the Lean Champions Training prior to enrolling in
the Black Belt Program.
Workshop Materials
Each participant will receive a Manual with all course materials.

To develop knowledge and skills for leading Project Teams. To develop knowledge
and skills to manage Overall Equipment Effectiveness. To develop your knowledge
and ability to lead project teams to achieve quick changeovers through application
of SMED methodology. To develop your knowledge and skills for leading project teams
to develop Total Productive Maintenance systems and standards.
