Six Sigma Black Belt Training - AIAG Approved

Seminar Content

4 Weeks. These four-week training sessions are certified course of AIAG. The training provides core training modules, practices and methodologies for Black Belt candidates. Trainees learn how key tools are utilized to form repeatable processes for solving critical problems; the learning cycle consists of four five-day training sessions over a four month period. The Six Sigma Black Belt training is conducted based on the Project-Based approach of Omnex. The participants are recommended to practice acutal projects on-site and monitor the whole progress of the project with the support of Omnex consultant.

Who Should Attend

Candidates are usually drawn from the managerial or technical specialist level, with the expectation of being assigned responsibility to implement Six Sigma in a business unit.

Prerequisites

Statistical training is recommended but not required.

Each participant will receive a Six Sigma Black Belt Training Material including case studies and exercises.

Course Methodology

  • Breakout Exercises
    • The exercies will be conducted during each training stage to pratice the Six Sigma tools application, and also to evaluate the understanding of the training courses.
    • The purpose of breakout exercises is to develop skills of Six Sigma Project Implementation by having individuals or teams working on practical situations.
  • Evaluation of Individual Participation
    • Attendees will be evaluated on class participation, which encompasses the following aspects:
      • Asking meaningful questions in class
      • Sharing professional project experiences
      • Taking an active role in team exercises
      • Engaging in effective role-playing
    • Effective class participation provides the attendee with opportunities to demonstrate practical understanding of the many Six Sigma tools
  • Graded Exercises
    • Graded exercises will be given to test understanding of subject matter discussed that day. Questions will be multiple choice or short essay style.
  • Role-Playing
    • Participants will have the opportunity to play the role of Green Belt and Yellow Belt in simulated situations previously discussed in the classroom.
  • Final Exam
    • This is a two hour open book examination consisting of multiple choice, short narrative and several essay questions. The exam is designed to test student understanding of DMAIC process and tools application. Participants will be able to use all materials supplied during the class for the final exam, specifically:
      • Student Personal Notes (from seminar)
      • Daily exercises
      • Statistis Book
      • Course textbook
  • Certificate and Project Closing
    • Project is required to close with the project charter completed. Certificate will be issued within 1 month after satisfied participatings, Final Test, project closing and project charter completion.
